“The Meaning of Traditional Bands in Lithuanian Ethnic Culture”

Crafts of textile processing

The traditional weaver has been a technology teacher for over 20 years. In order to engage children in crafts, she herself started to take an interest and look for innovations and forgotten techniques. The craftsman has been improving and deepening her knowledge all the time, not only for herself but also for her students. Later, fate brought together skilled artisans who helped to understand the traditions of composition and colour matching.

Now the artist embroiders only Lithuanian symbols in her fabrics, combining traditional colours - red, green, yellow and blue, which are popular in Aukštaitija, and purple, dark green, which are common in Western Lithuania.
