For Utena district folk artist, carving is a lovely hobby for his heart, which he has been engaged in for a long time. During his free time, the craftsman contributes to the development of culture in Lithuania, organizes exhibitions, educational activities for children and adults, introducing them to ethno culture and carving customs. The craftsman is happy to show how the creative work is done, how the pattern on the spindles and by-spindles is extracted, and in practice demonstrates the production of the work with carving knives.

The purpose of the educational program

To introduce spindles, by-spindles, towel hangers, their history, meaning in the past and present.

Activities: In education you will be able to explore the exhibit by touch, attend a creative workshop or learn how to work with carving knives. During the session, educational films and practical tasks are used to engage the participants. Everyone will make a by-spindle and bring it home. Educational programs are organized all over Lithuania and abroad.

Duration of education: 1,5 – 2 hours.

Number of participants: 15 – 20 persons.

Place: At your agreed place with the craftsman.

Seasonality: All year round.

Languages: Lithuanian.
