“Dyeing of woollen yarns with plants”

Crafts of textile processing

Presentations of educational crafts are becoming more and more popular at folk and craft fairs. For such events, a certified yarn dyeing craftswoman goes with her equipment: fireplace (a metal tray on which she makes a fire), a pair of buckets holding a frame. All this is necessary for the woman to show how the old customs of our nation are revived – she dyes woollen threads with plant extracts. The craftswoman herself has extracted over 40 natural different shades of yarns.
