“Curtain Cutting Education”

Traditional craftswoman from Utena organizes cutting craft education. For many, this may be the first acquaintance with Lithuanian traditional application of cuttings, which have been widely used in Lithuanian villages since the end of the 19th century to the middle of the 20th century. When you learn more about paper curtains, shelf decorations, kerosene lamp covers, mirror and picture cutting frames, you might be ready to use the cuttings in your home.

The purpose of the educational program

To encourage the continuation of traditions, familiarization with cutting, basic techniques, and allow to practice the craft by own hands.

Activities: During this training you will learn about the history of cuttings and their application in the household. You will each create an original cutting. If desired, floral ornaments, a tree of life or a colourful composition can be created. Age of participants ranges from 8 to 80 years.

Duration of education: 1,5 – 2 hours.

Number of participants: 15 persons.

Place: At your agreed place with the craftsman.

Seasonality: All year round.

Languages: Lithuanian.
