In ancient times, straw was valued as a symbol of uninterrupted life, as cereal straw grows the ear and ripens grain, and when it is sown, it produces a new sprout. For many years, the artisan shares her knowledge about secrets of straw, teaches and educates them about the craft of weaving.

The purpose of the educational program

To acquaint the participants of education with the tradition of tying gardens, basic literature, works of other Lithuanian binders, tying technology.

Activities: During the education you will learn how to collect straw for gardens, how to prepare them for drying. Everyone will learn how to prepare the raw material by cleaning it and cutting, and most importantly, how to bind a two-story garden.

Duration of education: 1,5 – 3 hours.

Number of participants: from 10 persons.

Place: At your agreed place with the craftsman.

Seasonality: all year round.

Languages: Lithuanian.
